'Clothing optional' means you are not required to wear clothes around the private area of our property, it is your choice. The only area where we don't allow clothing is in the spa - so no swimming attire. We ask guests to have a freshen-up shower before entering the spa too, which also helps to preserve the freshness of the spa water for as long as possible. If it's cold wear something. If you are in danger of sun burn then also cover up. Equally when going to your car, which will be visible from the road, we request you cover up.

No problem, we understand. We are not here to persuade you to be a naturist. There are two sides to naturism - being one, and being around others who are. As long as you accept we, your hosts, are naturists and are comfortable with that you'll be fine.

Basically no! Naturism is a considered, consent-driven experience and we require that couples staying are 100% on the same page with each other. Please be honest and open with each other - no surprises - you must both agree willingly to be here.

Celebrate it! Unlike mainstream naturist venues (and because we are strictly adult only) we say be glad you can, be relaxed about it and above all there is absolutely no need to be embarrassed, or cover up for our sake. It's a natural part of being a human male. We are also perfectly comfortable with couples 'enjoying' our private outdoor spaces if you wish - this is an adult space.

No worries! Naturism is not about having beach-ready bodies. Every body is unique and is to be celebrated, regardless of shape or size. We are middle-aged and are not gym bunnies at all so hopefully you'll feel relaxed around us.

It is naturist etiquette to carry and use a towel when sitting on shared areas, such as furniture, for hygiene reasons. One of the facts of life as a naturist is that we tend to be clean souls. We have a quick shower after using the ablutions to keep fresh, for example, but using your own towel as a seat cover is still considerate. Ample towels are provided at the Rural Naturist B&B Retreat.

Yes! Naturism is largely about socialising - we welcome you to pop in the main homestead to say hello and have a cup of tea with us, a yarn, or share a spa, open fire, sun bed or drink at the bar. We are happy to socialise both as a couple and individually throughout your stay. As a couple we deeply respect each other's personal freedom to fully & openly enjoy the company of our guests. Don't be shy about socialising during your stay - just reach out to one or both of us! We are creatures of habit too - we'll be at the bar sometime from between 5 & 6pm - or earlier if you tempt us!

Absolutely NOT!! Your body is your temple and as an expression of yourself you are welcome here! We simply do not judge 🙂

Yes, our main deck where the spas are is about 50sqm and has 'Suntuf' roofing which the manufacturer claims cuts out 99.9% of harmful rays. We have spent a lot of time under it during summer and have yet to get sun-burnt. We also have a small shade garden which has a park bench on a small deck which is slightly cooler on hot days. Also to note that because the spas are under the 'Suntuf' roof there is no danger of the water amplifying the sun's rays and so they can be used any time of day. In summer we have a fan on the deck to help cool us down.

The question we are most asked! To make sure at least one is always working as we spa 365 days a year. In summer we can run both - one at 38 degrees for cooler evenings and one around 34 degrees for cooling down during the day. In winter, we run one spa at 38-39 degrees.

Yes, we can manage that so you have your own time in them if you are visiting solo. We often spa for an hour or so in the evening but can work around you if you prefer. Please ask one of us to help put the lid back on when you have finished, or take it part off so you can slide it back on on your own. We do reserve the right to just check on you occasionally for health and safety reasons. Of course as a couple you have each other to do this!

Yes, but not with glass. We provide plastic drinking vessels for everyone's safety.

During busy periods, a deposit may be requested to secure your booking. The summer season is especially popular, with naturists making the most of the warm weather and long daylight hours. That said, winter often fills up too. The cosy log fire in the homestead and the warm, inviting spa tend to be a strong draw-card.

If a deposit is required, the easiest way to pay is via bank transfer.

If your plans change, you’re welcome to cancel free of charge up to 7 days before arrival. Cancellations made within 1–7 days of check-in receive a 50% refund, and no refunds are available for no-shows.

Sorry, no visitors. It is essential we maintain the privacy and freedom of our space to be for naturists only.

With a real wood fire, a hot spa, rugs to shelter under and a cosy cottage to keep you warm! Even in colder months in central Waikato there are many days when the sun pops out. We've had many a happy hour laid around the fire watching the flames dance while nude. There is something deeply human, something in our DNA that elicits a shared connection when being socially naked in front of a hot fire having a yarn. Especially when its blowing a storm or raining outside. Sure, you won't get a tan in winter, but the freedom of being clothing-free is always there to enjoy. So, yes we are open all year round!

No. We don't agree with many of the the organisation's views on naturism and the way clubs are run. We are proudly independent and happy to welcome the many independent naturists who do not wish to be club members. That said, if you are a member yourself you are still welcome however, we can't offer discounted rates for NZNF members.

No. When we have a guest booked in it's just you and us. The postie might call into the front of the house if there is a parcel to deliver but that is not near the private space. The house has a gate which is secured with a simple bike chain lock. If you prefer we can lock it and provide you with the code so you know no one can wander in, but you can still come and go. There's a bit of a rural code that neighbours don't just call round.

Because in our experience Naturists are private folks, especially when trying it out for the first time. There is still some stigma attached with it from the 'textiles', so we are discrete. We are totally sure you'll find we are 'what we say on the tin' and enjoy your visit. If we quote a guest's written feedback on our site it is genuine and anonymous to protect their privacy.

Because we don't want people calling in who are stuck for a room for the night. This used to happen especially during busy times such as Field Days when we had a 'regular' B&B. We want you to feel comfortable staying and offer discretion especially for those new to Naturism. We are based in rural Ōhaupō, in the Waikato, about 20 minutes from Hamilton so you should be able to plan accordingly. We will obviously supply our address upon booking.

No, sorry. If we were we'd probably get more guests but there is too much risk of people booking without realising we are a Naturist B&B. We pay GST and Tax on all bookings and to keep prices reasonable we don't want to have to pass on commission charges too.
